L & T Sells Medical Business to Mysore based Skanray Healthcare Pvt Ltd
Skanray Healthcare Pvt Ltd., a company fully owned by the founders and investors of Mysore based primary healthcare leader, Skanray Technologies, acquired L & T’s medical business.
In a press note to the NSE, Mumbai, L & T wrote
Skanray Technologies was founded in 2007 by a large team of Medical device engineers and professionals. Started in a commercial incubation centre in Mysore, the company has grown to be one of the fastest growing primary healthcare companies and recognized globally for its product performance and quality.
Skanray Technologies Managing Director, Vishwaprasad Alva explained that this is more of a joining together of managers and professionals of both L & T medicals and Skanray technologies to build a formidable global company in primary healthcare. Having both the facilities located in Mysore brings the combined advantage of tier 2 city costs and world class technologies that both companies are proud of. With the new structure, the combined entity will be able to provide a whole range of medical devices to the customer.
Talking about the future plans, Mr. Alva announced that soon the new entity will form a series of global associations to design and manufacture state of the art echo color doplor ultrasound, Critical care devices, total hospital solutions including telemedicine and S/W, mobile hospitals and ICU turnkey projects with comprehensive 5 ~ 10 year total cost of ownership packages. L & T s leadership team and its current members will see a bigger role in the new entity and the big plan.
The news was received with jubilation in the Healthcare delivery market with hope to spread primary Healthcare to the deprived rural masses at affordable costs with minimum government subsidy. NRHM will be the biggest beneficiary of such a consolidated remarked a senior Healthcare official from the Social Sector.
